Crafts, Hobbies. Whats the difference

I have often been asked whats the difference between crafts and hobbies, there all the same aren't they? Actually there is very little difference between the two. However there is a very little slight difference. The difference is that hobbies covers a broader range of subjects where as crafts usually pertains to a small group of activities.

A hobby is usually done in your spare time for fun.Such as collecting things like dolls, trains, books or what ever you are interested in collecting. This is a hobby.

A craft is usually something made out of nothing to just enjoy, collect, make for yourself or give away as a gift.Such as woodworking which is what I do and sell.Being good at crafts can bring you in extra money. When doing crafts people rarely keep the product.

So should someone ask you what the difference is between a craft and a hobby is, you can tell them that hobby has a broader range of terms than crafts do.

Late entries

Sorry folks haven't been here for a while. I'm a bit behind in the seasonal crafts.
St Pats Day

Its time for the wearing of the green and the smallest people you've ever seen.

The luck of the Irish they carry along, and a pot of goldif you can hold them long.

But if you let them go too soon, Leprechaun poop will be your due.

( Use green Tic-Tac's, mints or green jelly beans ) Place these in a zip lock bag and staple this message above to it.

Easter bag topper

Hello !
Well here it is almost Easter again. Here is a cute craft for children to make for someone. Perhaps grandparents Or you can make this for an old folks home ( nursing home). My mom loves these kinds of things and I always make them for the older folks where she lives. EASTER is a nice way to show respect to God. However too much is being commercialized these days and people have forgotten what Easter is all about. It is to celebrate the rising of Christ from the dead. To most people it is just "egg hunt day" or to get Easter baskets with candy and that's all. What a shame we have forgotten what its all about.

Well anyway here is the simple craft to make:

1. Use small chocolate Easter eggs or chocolate covered raisins.
2. Place these in a plastic sandwich bag folding it in half after sealing.
3.Place the following poem on the bag and staple it to the bag.

Hidden eggs are not for you,
Not even in the chicken coop,
Look as you may, search as you will.
All you will find is bunny poop.

Home Made Crafts

Our next holiday is St Patrick's day. Some of you may not celebrate this holiday. But for those of you who do here is another cute craft that is easy to make the kids can even do it. I try to make all my crafts easy so the kids can help. They like to be involved in what your doing and it is good for kids to do crafts. This is spending quality time together.

Valentines Day Craft

Place red hot candies in a sandwich bag. Fold it down and staple the following poem to it that you have written on a piece of paper.

Here is something from the cupids above,
Who fly along with the doves.
Whose arrows have hit many lonely hearts,
they send you this gift for your big heart.
Your kindness and love have been so true,
so the Cupids have sent you their little poo-poo.
